1. What Makan is (and isn't)

Makan is a platform where owners, agencies, developers and service companies publish listings and profiles, and where visitors can search, compare and contact them. Makan is not a party to any sale, lease or service agreement made between users, does not act as a broker for them, and does not hold money on their behalf.

2. Accounts

• You must give accurate information and keep your login details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Agencies and companies must have the right to represent the business they list, and should provide a valid commercial registration (CR) for verification.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the law.

3. Listings and content you publish

• Only publish properties you own or are authorised to market, with a real price, location and photos or 3D scans of that property.
• No fake, duplicate or misleading listings, no requests for advance payments before a viewing, and no content that breaks Omani law.
• You keep ownership of your content, and give Makan a licence to display, resize, optimise (including 3D files) and promote it on Makan and its social channels while it is published.
• We may edit, hide or remove content that we believe is inaccurate, unlawful or harmful.

4. Verification badges

A Verified badge means a company's commercial registration was reviewed by our team, and a KYC badge means a person passed an identity check through our provider. Badges reduce risk but are not a guarantee of a person's conduct, a property's condition or a deal's legality. Always check title documents and use a lawyer for large transactions.

5. AI assistant, estimates and guides

The AI assistant, price ranges and knowledge guides are general information, not legal, financial, tax or valuation advice. Price ranges are based on asking prices of listings on Makan and are not an official valuation. Fees and rules in Oman change by official decision; confirm them with the relevant authority or a licensed professional.

6. Contacting other users

When you send an inquiry, viewing request or quote request (including through the AI assistant, after you confirm it), we pass your name, contact details and message to that owner, agency or company. Use these contact details only for the purpose they were shared for. No spam or unsolicited marketing.

7. Acceptable use

• Don't scrape, copy or resell Makan's data or listings without written permission.
• Don't try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
• Don't impersonate another person or business.

8. Intellectual property

The Makan name, logo, design, software and our own written guides belong to Ofoq Modern Technology LLC. You may share links to Makan pages freely.

9. Liability

Makan is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for listings or content published by users, for agreements between users, or for indirect losses arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Omani law that cannot be excluded.

10. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Makan means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, and the competent courts in Muscat have jurisdiction. Questions: contact us.
